Mr. Gary Buchsen

Gary Buchsen is a 1987 graduate of Coudersport High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in history with a concentration in law from Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He received his Master’s degree in education from Saint Francis and went on to earn a Principal’s Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His letter of eligibility was granted from Gannon University in 2010.

Gary worked with the Windber Area School District for 17 years. During that time, he taught high school social studies and coached varsity football and basketball. He also spent six years serving as an assistant elementary school principal, elementary principal, middle school principal, and finally as a high school principal.

In 2008, he began serving as the Curriculum Director for Conemaugh Township Area School District and then served as superintendent. In 2013, he took on the role as superintendent of schools for the Port Allegany School District. Gary has two daughters with his wife, Jennifer, who worked as a special education teacher.
